Schools Engagement
As part of our social value initiatives we are engaging with local schools and colleges offering construction career-related activities, not only to inspire students into careers in the industry, but to also help them learn about the environment, environmental issues and sustainability.

The DE Group is providing site visits to various DE Group projects within zone 1 and 2, for groups of 11 to 16 year olds and their tutors, who get to experience a live working site, and a look and feel as to how construction projects work in real life.

We are partnering with the Construction Youth Trust charity to promote employment in the construction industry through careers fairs and workshops at local sixth form colleges and schools. The Construction Youth Trust is a charity whose aim is to inspire and enable young people to overcome barriers and discover a career in the construction and built environment sector.

Practical workshops include the use of electronic tools and data management software such as Tekla design, CAD, DataScope, 4 Projects and BIM modelling. Other workshops include all job type career and CV advice, and mock interviewing. There are also opportunities available for workplace experience placements of 1 to 6 week durations in office based and site based roles within the DeGroup.

We are also providing lectures on the construction industry and opportunities, as well as talks on environmental literacy via our specialist consultant and partners, to help the students learn the skills and motivation required to make responsible decisions that considers their relationships to natural systems, communities, and future generations.

This website will be regularly updated with a range of opportunities that we hope will interest you.
