Supporting the Community
Our focus is on long term sustainable solutions to respond to the community's needs.

As part of our community initiatives, we have provided:

- Donations of baby products, funds for school uniforms and helping local groups to collect and distribute fresh foods to food banks.

- Community defibrillators along with first aid training and first aid kits.

- Donations of sports equipment to a Community Football club and youth group.

- Skills training one day courses to refresh, maintain and develop community members’ skills.

- Resilience, hydration, nutrition, stress buster massages, PSA and thyroid testing, and skin cancer and sun safety sessions for members of the community.

- Volunteer drivers each week to assist local volunteers with the collection and distribution of food within the community, including trolleys and trucks to help with transporting the food.

- A £45k social fund to support 12 local voluntary and community sector (VCS) organisations which needed to make improvements to their premises and communication technology, enabling them to improve the services and activities offered to their groups and local residents. Funds typically used for fitness equipment, wheelchairs, woodworking dust extractor machines, computers and servers, fridges and kitchen equipment, and internal building remodelling and decoration.

- Collection of Children’s books across DeGroup’s London construction sites for a local charity to refresh and distribute.

- Sewing equipment and materials to develop skills, and improve resilience and mental health.

- Employment and apprenticeship opportunities within the DE Group construction business.

- A monthly one-day careers adviser visit to the Department for Work and Pensions to assist with candidates' career focus and direction.

- Careers and jobs fairs within the community and local sixth form colleges to promote the construction industry and DE Group opportunities.

- Work placements, in collaboration with the Construction Youth Trust for young people's participation in employment and training and those who are currently unemployed and not in education.

- Work experience days in construction and media, in collaboration with local colleges.

- A regular litter cleaning team around the site and the surrounding roads, also offering assistance to members of the community if requested. Monthly cleaning of the 39 mosaics in the pavement route of the 'Silent Walk.

This website will be regularly updated with a range of opportunities that we hope will interest you.
