8:00am to 5:00pm – Monday to Friday with 2 x 30 minute breaks per day

Job Requirements
  • Hold a current Banksman/Traffic Marshal CSCS competency card.
  • Be hard working, reliable and punctual.
  • Patience and the ability to remain calm but forceful during stressful situations.
  • Knowledge of Public safety and security.
  • Good communication skills are required to ensure tasks are carried out safely in accordance with the written safe method of work documents (RAMS – Risk Assessments and Method Statements) produced by the site management.
  • Be able to work alone on your own initiative or as part of a Team.
Main duties
  • Have an understanding of the dangers of working in the industry and their responsibilities as a Traffic Marshal.
  • Directing the movement of vehicles on site and re-introduce safely onto the Public highway.
  • Identify areas of danger within the site.
  • Managing on-site traffic systems.
  • Guide drivers and make sure reversing areas are free of pedestrians.
  • Providing clear, correct, and safe directions to plant operators/drivers.
  • Communicating with drivers and plant operators verbally and by radio and/or industry standard hand signals.
  • Understanding risks (e.g., blind spots) and how to manage these effectively.
  • Safeguarding pedestrians where vehicles may be reversing.
  • Managing traffic to avoid excessive queuing.
  • Minimising possible risks to personnel and equipment.
  • Assisting on site with general duties when not carry out banksman duties.
  • Assisting with vehicle movements for loading and unloading vehicles or cranes.
