8:00am to 5:00pm – Monday to Friday with 2 x 30 minute breaks per day

Job Requirements

• Good communication skills are required to ensure tasks are carried out safely in accordance with the written safe method of work documents (RAMS – Risk Assessments and Method Statements) produced by the site management. 

• The trade requires physical manual work and the candidate must be able bodied and fit for work. 

• Be able to work alone on your own initiative or as part of a Team 

• An ability to read drawings and schedules and translate the information to form structures to construct slabs, walls and columns in conjunction with steel fixing, groundwork and concreting trades. 

• Hold a valid CSCS card and an NVQ in Carpentry 

• Team work - work effectively and safely with others under minimum supervision. 

• Time management - use own time effectively to complete the work instructions to schedule and always arrive at, and be ready to work on time. 

• Working effectively - undertake the work in a reliable, safe and productive manner.

Main duties

• Assist experience shuttering carpenters to construct an array of various formers for the construction of reinforced or mass filled concrete structures using either timber and plywood or proprietary formwork panel systems 

• Read and interpret working plans and material lists for the job 

• Setting out the work area, following engineering plans 

• Maintaining, storage and safe use of hand and power tools 

• Following sites high health and safety standards at all time 

• Fabricating and maintaining timber and proprietary formwork systems 

• Erecting and striking timber and proprietary formwork 

• Safely working at height and use of access equipment 

• Select resources associated with own work in relation to materials, components, fixings, tools, equipment and consumables. 

• Maintain a clean work space when moving, handling or storing resources.
